Manhattans is a traditional British style of Old-style Bloody Mary and was popularised in the US in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Old-style bloody mary is traditionally served at dinner parties, weddings and other events. 

The Ingredients for Old Manhattan Bloody Mary: 1/2 cup of white wine (or any type of red wine)  1 cup of fresh lemon juice 2 tbsp.

Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp.

vanilla extract 3 tbsp.

white sugar 1 tbsp. butter 1 cup cornstarch (optional) 1 tsp.

salt 1 egg white Directions: In a large saucepan, whisk the wine, lemon juice, Worcester’s and vanilla extracts until it becomes a paste. 

Add the white sugar, butter and cornstarch. 

Bring to the boil and reduce to a simmer. 

After 5 minutes, add the egg white and simmer for a further 15 minutes. 

Cool the mixture. 

Remove the mixture from the saucepan and place it in a saucepan. 

Let it cool slightly and then refrigerate for at least two hours. 

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place a rack in the middle of the oven. 

Spread the batter in the bottom of the pan and then spread it over the top. Place the spoons on the top of the pan and place a second spoon over the sides. 

Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. 

Allow to cool completely before slicing.
